High School Debate, Negotiations, and Apologetics

Having a 5 decade career in Telecommunications it would have never occurred to me this would be my most treasured role.  Seeing young minds awaken to the symphony of God’s word, to be instilled with tools to allow them to see through the fog of outright deception brings more joy than ever imagined, and I have been blessed with three life situations that were the preparatory road.

FIRST, studying management in college, was tutored by a professor who had negotiated with Ceasar Chavez and Jimmy Hoffa and his classes were the toughest.

SECOND, as a Union Exec Vice President for a CWA Local, received first-hand experience in the good, the bad and the ugly of negotiations, and the tactics.

THIRD, I became familiar, and spoke with Harry Beck, the subject of 487 U.S. 735 (1988) CWA v. BECK and thus my interest in Supreme Court issues.

Every student will be challenged to expand horizons, defend their beliefs, and gain a deeper understanding of the REAL world around them – not “virtual reality
