Tracy Berry

9th Grade Teacher

I consider myself a 'grafted in'  Oregonian since I have lived in Roseburg for nearly 30 years AND my father was born and raised in Portland.

I grew up on military bases and finished high school and college in Washington State.  My education consists of a BA in communications and a MS in biology from Washington State University.  I then followed my youthful dream of becoming a physician, graduating from the University of Washington.  After working nearly 20 years as an anesthesiologist in Corvallis, Springfield and locally at Mercy, I went on to less stressful pursuits such as mountain biking, paddle-boarding and teaching fitness classes at the YMCA.

I've always thoroughly enjoyed teaching others in many capacities.  I was a TA in graduate school and while in the Air Force Reserves, my role was mainly in the continuing education of other health professionals in our medical wing.  Most recently, I've taught part time in the local school districts as a sub and found  children in the local Christian schools are the most fun to actually teach.   I also teach fitness classes: HIIT and resistance training at the local YMCA.

This is my first year teaching at CCA though I subbed a bit last year. I'm looking forward to my class of 9th graders.

I have three daughters, all grown, all tax paying citizens--two here in Oregon and one in Wisconsin.  They were all raised in the Faith here at RCF.
